**Kozhikode:** Two more people have been arrested in connection with the seizure of one kilogram of MDMA at Pantheerankavu, with the investigation team taking a 32-year-old man from Nilambur in Malappuram and a 23-year-old nursing student from Malayinkeezhu in Thiruvananthapuram into custody from a luxury flat in Noida, Delhi. According to the police, C. Ajmal and P. Surya are alleged to be key links in the drug trafficking network.

The case relates to the seizure of one kilogram of MDMA from a car parked on the service road near Kapkon City at Pantheerankavu on May 9. Three people from Malappuram — Mohammed Arshalal, 25, Adil Shah, 20, and Mohammed Farhan, 22 — had earlier been arrested in connection with the case.

According to the police, questioning the three arrested earlier revealed that the drugs were being transported to Kerala from Delhi. Their questioning also allegedly brought to light the suspected involvement of Ajmal and Surya in the drug network.

The investigation was subsequently focused on Delhi. Based on the probe, the investigation team reportedly took Ajmal and Surya into custody from a luxury flat in Noida that was in Surya’s name.

Police said they seized several items from the flat, including a digital scale used for weighing drugs, a packing sealer, more than 5,000 zip-lock covers, a currency note-counting machine and several ATM cards.

According to the police, the two suspects told investigators that more than 10 kilograms of MDMA was being sent every week to states including Kerala. The police position is that the drugs were transported by purchasing second-hand cars in Delhi and taking them to Kerala.

The police further stated that the suspects had carried out drug transactions worth more than ₹5 crore within four months. The two accused were produced before the court and remanded.
